Self Directed sessions
At Wild Clay Studios, we offer 2-hour self-directed pottery sessions designed for individuals eager to experiment with clay—whether you're a first-timer or looking to expand your existing practice. Our vibrant studio provides a welcoming environment where you can delve into hand-building techniques like coiling, slab building, and pinching. Each session is priced at £20 per person, and our friendly hosts are on hand to offer guidance and answer any questions as you shape your creations. Whether you're crafting for personal enjoyment or seeking to refine your skills, our self-directed sessions offer the flexibility to explore your creativity at your own pace.
Whats included
Off-white stoneware clay – perfect for hand-building techniques.
Clay tools & aprons – everything you need to get started.
A friendly host – available to assist with any questions during your session.
A selection of bold coloured underglazes – for adding vibrant designs to your pieces.
An illustrated guide – featuring the three main hand-building techniques: coiling, slab building, and pinching.
A room full of pottery for inspiration – spark your creativity with examples from fellow artists!
Whats not included
Firings. Any pieces you would like fired must be paid for separately on the day. Each piece can cost between £1 - £10 depending on the size.
Glazing & wait times
If you wish to glaze your work with any of the glazes shown below, you will need to book in for another session as your pieces/pieces will need to be bisque fired before you apply any glaze.
Please allow for up to 2 weeks for your piece to be bisque fired. You will be emailed when it is ready and you can book another session to glaze it.
Alternatively, if you do not wish to come back and finish your piece in another session you may choose to underglaze it in the same session that you made it! The piece will then be ready to collect after 4 - 6 weeks.
